Why Write with Rox?

"I am a dog lover, so I understand a little about packs.  This is a good one.  We have a tender and respected alpha, Roxanne, who keep us all safe and groomed, well-fed and sheltered.  She has taught us not to bite one another too hard, but to roll on the ground joyously in play.  She encourages us to sniff out our own adventures.  She will help us lick our wounds, and she will nudge us out of the den before we get too comfortable.  Waaaa-OOOOH."Heidi S, Spring 2013

"You are teaching me much about writing and life. You are such a great teacher. I really appreciate how kind and gentle you are with all of us, and how encouraging...you create such a safe, caring environment that all of us manage to come up with supportive, constructive comments. I think you rock. Thank you! I am so happy you are in my life. Such a gift you are! What a mitzvah!" —Kit Naylor, December 2012

"In my travels, I spent a fair amount of time in Minneapolis with my best friend from the eighth grade.  The beauty of our relationship is that although many years have past and our lives have taken different paths, our connection remains just as strong.  In fact, our relationship has grown even deeper over the years as we have grown as people.  My best friend, Roxanne, is a talented writer and I was able to spend many weeks with her, participating in her healing through writing groups. Back in the day, I used to journal a great deal, but in the past 15 years, I somehow lost this ritual.  Roxanne leads writing groups where we write spontaneously and as honestly as possible with the topic at hand.  I was amazed at how healing this process was and how deeply I connected with other members of the group.  It was truly a delight and the process reignited my desire to continue to go deeper into writing as a tool to heal past and current wounds. " Paula Piece, BFF, October 2012

“I highly recommend your class to anyone who wants to stay fresh, awaken new ideas, and be inspired by the amazingly talented and imaginative people who share the experience. Your class should be taken like  a vitamin supplement to enhance any other writing or creative  endeavor one is involved in.”— Intuitive Writing Student

“I was very fortunate to start my creative writing journey in Roxanne's class.  She inspired me to stretch my mind and my heart.  Over the years, she has continued to encourage me to take my writing seriously.  Roxanne helped me strategize how to get my writing published.  She has been a cherished mentor, supportive editor, and inspiring teacher.  I recommend her highly to writers at any level of experience”—Heidi Schneider, student 2006-present

"Her style of teaching inspires me to explore my imagination, my thoughts, my life's experiences, to access thoughts, ideas, etc. that I didn't know were inside me.

"Her ideas for subjects to write about take me down many paths I may not have taken."

"Her  skill at facilitating the "sharing" of our work makes that process a valuable and affirming experience, and not a negative or discouraging  one. I highly recommend your class to anyone who wants to stay fresh, awaken new ideas, and be inspired by the amazingly talented and imaginative  people who share the experience. Her class should be taken like  a vitamin supplement to enhance any other writing or creative  endeavor one is involved in." —T. Price, 2009

“Roxanne Sadovsky helped me save my life. Her class has inspired my resurgence from the underworld, as well as to live my life in a more confident and responsible way.  I would even daresay that her teaching helped me find some patches of happiness with staying power. Writing my memoir with all the secrets and then sharing that in a trustful classroom has brought me trust in myself in a new way.”—Intuitive Writing Student, March, 2011

"I love Roxanne's writing classes. I have taken several over the last year and a half and plan to take more. She presents us with such intriguing invitations to write about little pieces of our lives as well as the opportunity to share them. Though I often feel hesitant, it feels empowering to share my stories and an honor to hear my classmate's stories. And we also laugh a lot."— J. Starbright, 2007-present

  1. Rox and I connected in some "magical" way, on the save wavelength for a moment in time and I have been in the Wednesday afternoon writing group off and on for almost a year, (can it be that long?) Rox gets who I am as a writer and an author and supports my unique creativity. She is a writer, and a teacher, and an amazing soul; and I feel blessed to be able to "Write with Rox!" Thank you Rox!

  2. OOps, now that my comment is published, I find the error. It should say "same wavelength" not "save".

  3. I am always embarrassed, given my over-indulgent education, that I can never figure out websites. Can Rox write a short 'Joe the Plumber' manual on how to sign up for her classes or even contact her directly? Or is that bad form? Internet etiquette has always eluded me.
