Greetings from the Hometown! Some photos as promised... More to come. Enjoying the sun, the food, the flowers and trees... not enjoying the traffic, the leaf blowers, the drama!!! Off to to Venice Beach... So far my highlight: Yesterday my cousin and Godmother who is 93 says, over lunch at Canter's Deli, "Happiness is an inside job." Love to you all, Rox

    Looking at these wonderful photos I can't figure out why you came to the wilds of MN. In any case, it was lucky for me that you did make the move. Thanks Rox on this Thanksgiving holiday!

    I went to L.A once when my daughter was in the Tournament of Roses Parade. I put the laptop in front of her 6 Months before the parade and said, "Why not audition for the honor band?" She played her flute into the computer and then was picked for the honor band, made up of kids from all over the U.S. But that's not the important part. The important part is I got to go to L.A. right after Christmas when it's really cold here. And warm in L.A! I liked watching her March in the Parade. I liked Huntington Gardens. I liked Sushi with our friends. I liked watching a Pelican wake up on the Pier and scare the crap out of a Pit bull, by just opening it's wings like two curtains strung on baseball bats. The dog whimpered at the sight of the bird and drug his owner off the pier.

      ooooo the poetry you bring to LA! thank you for sharing that and for reminding me of the pelicans and their poetry... my dad loved pelicans... Would you believe I never went to the RB the whole time I lived here? But you know what? I saw dolphins on Monday just off the Santa Monica Pier and I never saw them before either. Now I get it about "start seeing dolphins..." Thanks for sharing! Happy Thanksgiving! xoxo

    Hi Rox!! I love the quote, "Happiness is an Inside Job" So true because it does come from inside of us. One of my favorite songs is LA Song by Beth Hart from 1999. I have never been to LA so I enjoy the photos very much! The ocean looks so calming and peaceful. I have never seen the real ocean. I have seen it in the clouds though, last year. It was amazing and I really felt like I was experiencing the ocean for the first time. Someday I will get there, until then will you look at the ocean for me? I miss our writing group at Wilder.
